It’s time to mark your calendars and get ready for the biggest celebration of love, diversity, and inclusion in Moreton Bay. That’s right – Moreton Bay PrideFest is returning for its second annual extravaganza, and this year promises to be even more fabulous than before.
On June 8, 2024, Pine Rivers Park in Strathpine will transform into a vibrant sea of rainbow flags, glitter, and all things fabulous, as we come together to celebrate the beautiful tapestry of the LGBTIQA+ community. This year, our aim is to make Moreton Bay a happier, healthier, and more culturally diverse place for everyone.
The 2024 program is packed with excitement and entertainment, featuring three stages of electrifying performances, the beloved Rollabae Skate Rink, the One Love Zone showcasing community organisations and support services, the Slay Lane Markets, and a Quiet Zone for those who need a moment of tranquillity. We've listened to your feedback and worked hard to ensure that this year's PrideFest is more inclusive and accessible than ever before.
Mayor Peter Flannery expressed his pride in Moreton Bay’s commitment to inclusivity, community, and accessibility, emphasising that PrideFest is not just a celebration but a powerful statement of unity and pride for the entire community.
“This is what people look for in a place to call home, and we’re proud to say that Moreton Bay delivers on this promise. Moreton Bay PrideFest is more than a celebration, it’s our community’s powerful statement of unity and pride.”
Natassia Wheeler, CEO of Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism, highlighted the event's significance in promoting Moreton Bay as a leading destination for gay-friendly travel. Wheeler emphasised the overwhelmingly positive feedback from last year's festival, declaring it as one of the best Pride events in Queensland.
“This return, sparked by the overwhelming success of the first PrideFest, promises to be an even more colourful and inclusive event. Feedback from festivalgoers was overwhelmingly positive, with many proclaiming it as the best Pride event they had attended, particularly in Queensland,” said Wheeler.
“We’re confident that PrideFest will become a key event on the Australian World Pride calendar that draws visitors from across the nation and beyond.”
But wait, there’s more! We’re keeping some surprises up our sleeves, including the highly anticipated Main Stage headliners, which will be revealed in our second program drop on February 27th at 10 am.
