Diverse Voices began in 1984 as the Homosexual Community Welfare Service (HCWS) providing telephone counselling and information. Peer telephone counselling services has always remained the core focus of our activities. We became the the Gay and Lesbian Welfare Association or GLWA in the early 90’s, and have recently re-established ourselves as a more inclusive Diverse Voices.
We help caring Queenslanders open their doors and hearts. Every year, our carers provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for almost 3,000 children aged 0-17 who've sadly suffered, or are at risk of suffering, abuse or neglect and can no longer live at home.

GALTA is a national network of tourism professionals dedicated to the welfare and satisfaction of all LGBTQ+ travellers within and to Australia. GALTA is a voluntary non-profit organisation operated by a team of elected individuals who work with federal, state and regional tourism bodies, corporations, businesses and individuals to develop and advance the LGBTQ+ travel market and increase the awareness of travellers and their needs.
